Growth of Greenbuild International Conference & Expo reflects global concern

The recent Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Washington, DC revealed dramatic growth in interest and awareness of sustainable initiatives relating to residential water and energy use says ACT, Inc. CEO Larry Acker.

“ACT D’MAND® has exhibited at Greenbuild since the conference’s inception back in the mid-90’s.  The first one was in Austin, Texas with about 200 attendees visiting a dozen exhibits.  The 2015 conference had approximately 20,000 attendees and hundreds of exhibits,” Acker said.  It is the world’s largest show on green building practices.

The building industry’s recovery from the tough economy a few years back has greatly improved the expo’s attendance and the educational material represented at the event.  Savvy homebuilders realize that homeowners want (or rather, D’MAND®) efficiency with their heating, air conditioning, water use and electrical consumption.  Today’s builders are constantly looking for energy savings for their clients.

This is exactly why ACT D’MAND Kontrols® Systems are a part of the Greenbuild conversation. To have Structured Plumbing is to have an electronic on-demand hot water distribution system—and ACT Kontrols is one of a kind. Since ’89, Acker’s company has used decades of conservation research to produce a product that moves hot water from your water heater to your most remote fixture in seconds. At the press of a button (their LED feature is the newest technology), water is circulated through the cold water line or dedicated return line to the water heater, replacing the ready hot water and providing instant luxury. By doing this, the 20 gallons of water a day that the average homeowner loses down the drain is saved; the result is between 7,000-10,000 gallons per year.

Sold largely throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Spain, the international company’s Kontrols® Systems are designed, developed and made in the USA.  Because some businesses out there are genuinely Dedicated to Today, Dedicated to the Future®.

The 2016 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo is slated for October 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California.
