ICF BIM Data Available for Building Pros
Building Information Modeling, or BIM, is sweeping the commercial building industry. BIM is a 3-D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the tools to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently.
Fox Blocks has invested in developing a BIM library to assist AEC professionals in specifying Fox Blocks products.
BIM data is available for more than 20 product types. Each file includes a set of properties, which gives the user precise information for each product type. The project and template files also allow the user to transfer the Fox Block products into existing building projects.
Fox Blocks is a contributor to the free, web-based BIM wall system configurator named BIM Smith Forge from Anguleris. Building industry professionals can quickly create Revit wall system families with click-and-drag ease - no BIM experience is necessary. The BIM Smith Forge provides an intuitive way to create specific or generic wall systems with spec sheets, product details and .dwg resources.
Fox Blocks is participating in the BIM Smith Forge to allow experts to get Revit wall system family information faster than previously possible and to give an opportunity for building industry professionals new to BIM a chance to engage with the process in a successful manner.
