Insulated Vinyl Siding: The Best of the Best

Most of us know the benefits and features of vinyl siding. But insulated vinyl siding, such as the #1 rated* CedarMAX by ProVia, takes vinyl siding a quantum leap in energy efficiency. The reason is its “blanket” effect of a home. Homes have insulation between the wall studs, but the studs themselves are very poor insulators. What isn’t often realized, wall studs take up about 25% of wall space, so in a sense, it is like having one entire wall of your home uninsulated! Energy loss through the studs is called thermal bridging. The insulated vinyl siding acts as a blanket on the outside of the home, greatly reducing thermal bridging. As a result, homes stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter with less energy consumption. The overall R-Value of a wall is increased. CedarMAX is ASTM D7793 Certified and can help qualify homes under the ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes Program.
