Enertech Announces New All-Aluminum Micro-Channel Air Coils

October 5, 2011 – Two years ago, Enertech unveiled a ground breaking innovation that changed the way the industry looked at packaged geothermal heat pumps. The Compass®, Revolution®, and ES4® Series took the industry by storm winning multiple awards such as the NEWS 2010 Dealer Design Awards. The innovative multi-positional cabinet that is field convertible to upflow/downflow with right or left return makes life easier for both dealers and distributors to install and stock.

However, our innovation isn't stopping there. Enertech, in its continual drive of industry leadership, is solving another age-old issue: Formicary Corrosion. Beginning October 5, 2011 our XT Series models 024 - 048 will be produced with a standard all-aluminum micro-channel air coil by Delphi®. Models 060 and 072 will follow in the Spring of 2012 with other lines transitioning over the next 12 to 18 months. Production of the line will take place at Enertech's state of the art manufacturing facility in Mitchell, SD.

For years, Formicary Corrosion has been an industry-wide issue that companies have spent hundreds of millions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of man-hours trying to combat. Formicary Corrosion occurs when airborne chemicals combine with condensate on the air coil. This forms an organic acid that attacks copper tubing where it meets the aluminum fins of standard air coils. This forms tiny pinholes that cause refrigerant leaks.

While other companies have turned to more exotic, and unproven coating technologies, Enertech has truly gone outside the box to find a permanent, and complete solution. However, protection against corrosion isn't the only benefit of this new technology.

Standard Features

A prime trademark of the XT Series cabinets is ease of installation and service. The unit features a variety of installer and servicer benefits, including eye level controls and convenient service access panels. An antimicrobial plastic drain pan and condensate overflow sensors are standard features that protect against corrosion and extend the life of the unit.

The XT Series is one of the quietest geothermal heat pumps available today. Features like quadruple compressor isolation, foamed-in source coaxial heat exchanger and insulated airtight access panels help reduce vibration and airflow noise. Overall appliance styling and other cabinet accents create a unit that homeowners will proudly boast.

This release is just one of several new product releases from Enertech.
