Proud Green Home of Louisville lays foundation for high performance living
The success of a high performance home begins with the foundation.
Creating a thermal barrier around the whole home will make the Proud Green Home of Louisville highly energy efficient.
So builder Sy Safi of UberGreen Spaces & Homes is using foam insulation in the footers and foundation as the base for the insulated concrete form walls that will make up most of the house. Architect Clive Pohl, of Pohl Rosa Pohl, designed the home to help Sy meet the requirements of green home certification programs, including LEED for Homes, the National Association of Home Builders Green Building Standard and the Zero Energy Ready standard from the U.S. Department of Energy.
